Can you believe we made it through the decade? As we close in on another year coming to an end, now is the time to reflect on how far we’ve come and to get excited for what is in store. Some of us may already have some goals in mind set for the new year, but who says you have to wait until January? Whether you’re a resolution person or not, you can still get started on your inspiration early with some help from your doTERRA oils!
1. Reflect.
Before you start to plan on how you can make 2020 the best year yet, it helps to look back on what you have already achieved. What have you accomplished? What are you proud of? What did you learn? This can be a great foundation to build off of when setting goals for the future. Think back to the last New Year… are you still keeping up with the goals you set for yourself last year?
A helpful tip is to start a Gratitude Journal and write down everything you are thankful for about the past year. And maybe not everything was smooth sailing. Maybe there were some bumps in the road, some challenges you faced and had to over come. Now is the time to embrace those lessons as well. Don’t let the thought of a new year overwhelm you, remember that each and every day is a fresh start!
2. Set a few small goals.
Real goals, that you believe are actually within your capability to achieve. Goals that you feel confident about following through on. These can be long term or short term. But don’t just write down your goals, also jot down the actual steps you plan on taking to achieve them. This will help you feel a little less overwhelmed about the idea, and a little more in control.
Need help clearing your mind and staying focused? You’ll want to have Basil, Balance, Douglas Fir, Vetiver, or InTune near by.
3. Make the plan.
Remember how I mentioned jotting down the steps to take in order to achieve the goals you set? This is the tricky part. Take into consideration what is going on in your life. Fit these steps into your schedule, and be honest with yourself about how you plan on managing your time, your finances, your diet, etc. This step is all about making sure your goals are actually obtainable. Accountability to others is a factor in continuing toward a goal, but it won’t help you achieve anything on its own. Voicing your goal out loud to another person is a great first step.

4. Rock the year!
12 months is a long time (despite how quickly it always seems to fly by). If you find that you want to update or modify your goal as the months pass, that’s totally acceptable! Review where you’re at every few months and make necessary changes. Mark these periods in your calendar so that you don’t forget to check in.
If you find yourself getting stressed or overwhelmed, turn to these oils to help keep you calm and centered: Balance, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Sandalwood, Spikenard, and Vetiver.
Most importantly, remember that life is not about the destination, but the journey! Live in the moment, write down your gratitude, use your essential oils, and 2020 will be an excellent start to the new decade.
