Are you one of those people who struggles to find comfort while staying in a hotel? It can be difficult sleeping in a strange place that just doesn’t quite feel like home, and this can have a negative affect on your entire trip!

Hopefully you’ve brought your essential oils with you, because these can help you create a healthier and happier environment no matter where you are.

So how can you use essential oils to help improve or enhance your hotel experience? Here are some of my tips…

When Diffusing: If you didn’t pack a diffuser, another way you can add a nice aroma to the room is by filling the sink with hot water and adding a few drops of whatever oils you do have!

OnGuard Hand Sanitizing Spray: the first thing I do when I check into my room, before I get settled in I make sure to wipe down any hard surfaces or commonly used items, like the door knobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, etc.

Lavender: We all know it can be hard to fall asleep when you’re away from your familiar and comfortable mattress and pillows. Try placing a few drops of lavender onto the corners of your pillow, or place a few drops onto the bottoms of your feet. This will help you to relax and wind down. You can also take a few drops internally to help settle nerves.

Peppermint: This can be used in so many ways, and some I talked about in my last blog (Where Have I Been This Summer?)  but another suggestion I have is if you’re finding your hotel room stuffy or hot, apply peppermint to your pulse points for a quick cool-down. You can also try placing a few drops onto a cotton ball if you have some, and place them into your air vent for creating a soothing environment that will help you to feel calm or get to sleep.

Balance: This blend can help to keep you calm and grounded during moments of stress. It’s great for diffusing, like I mentioned above, or else try applying to your wrists, neck, and bottoms of your feet.

Finally, I suggest you bring with you doTERRA’s Serenity Combo Pack, which includes Serenity blend and Serenity Softgels! If just the essential oil alone is not enough to help you get to sleep, then these softgels are a great option for some assistance. And what’s better is that you won’t feel groggy or sluggish the following day!
